C4K February Summary

So Cute! This is a youtube video done by Mr. Mitchell and
the kids from the Digitalk class blog. What better way to
encourage blogging than by children themselves!

c4k#1 Hannah T.
My first Kid Blog was Hannah T. from Mrs.Barks class from Pt. England School in Auckland, New Zealand. The class blog has a really cute name, "We've Got The Write Stuff". I am from The New Kids On The Block era and so I immediately began singing that song! Already I was a big fan:) There are so many great posts on the class blog I knew the kid blog was sure to be great as well. The class was learning about the solar system and Hannah's blog continued this subject into her blog post. The first thing I noticed about her was her incredible infectious smile. She shares that she loves to draw and to do art projects. Her solar system project included an informative video that really impressed me because I was only just learning how to create a blog and she is already able to use animation in hers! I told her how impressed I am and that I hope to be able to teach children one day how to combine technology and art as well as Mrs. Barks has taught her. You can visit the We've Got The Write Stuff blog here.

c4k#2 Mikayla
My Kid Blog this week was Mikayla, a 4th grader from Victoria, Australia in Miss. Morris and Miss. Jordan's class at Leopold Primary School. On Mikayla's Happy Blog she talks about how she is enjoying the "holiday", which is their summer break. I commented to her about how neat it is to be able to communicate with people so far away. While it is 2pm in the afternoon there, it is 9pm here. The class blog had lots of information about their country, Australia. I shared with her that although I have never been outside of the U.S. I would love to visit her beautiful country.

c4k #3 Eddy
If you visit Eddy's Blog you will see that he is an active blogger in Mrs. Eppeles 5th grade class in British Columbia, Canada. He wrote the cutest story about an alien who stowaway in a man's clothes after his retirement party from his job. He also made a post about saving money up to buy a pair of shoes that he wanted. I told him that it is very impressive for a fifth grader to be disciplined enough to save money! He is into scoeing beater, which I have NO clue what it is, but, I think it is something like skateboarding. He sounds like a pretty cool guy.
